And now, the aforementioned new world-building. While I'm not yet going to get into the specific details of how my world's afterlife works (I'm leaning towards a combination of how it works in Septimus Heap and Coco), I will say that it does include restless spirits like ghosts and poltergeists. Spirit-callers such as Alithena serve to bring such entities peace. Sometimes that means performing at a funeral to ensure they never feel the need to rise up. Sometimes that means visiting a haunt to learn what unfinished business ties the specters to the world of the living.

And sometimes it means going to town on a spook like a Ghostbuster! Usually by simultaneously strumming out her own theme music on her magic guitar (kept in beat by her tail maracas)!

The makeup is traditional for Alithena's profession, to remind all that she is meant to be a bridge between the world of the living and the needs of the departed.
