She may have never been to Earth, but she learned a lot about this place from her husband's stories, as well as the television programs that Mark loved to watch regularly.
Even living on the happy Chakona, Mark still occasionally wondered what was going on in his homeland.
She may not have fully understood or caught some things, - but Madeline had learned quite a bit about the Earth's culture, as well as some of the old movies from Earth, that her husband sometimes had been watching with her.

The two of them were walking around the city, it was a beautiful sunny day, and suddenly Madeline saw a subway ventilation grille on the street - and she just couldn't stop herself from doing it.

"Happy birthday, Mr. President, happy birthday to you...~"

I keep thinking of that part of Marilyn Monroe's birthday song, seeing that candid smile, and that iconic pose - when a gust of wind lifts Madeline's dress.
Of course, because of her thick fur, she did not wear underwear - but Madeline provokes him, and she knows very well what will happen next...
