I'm a human irl so it's all good.

Actually I would have used my human self in this, but I need more practice with them.
Plus I decided that representing myself in anthro form here was more fitting for portraying the message in the picture, and the song it was based on. It represents a form of equality underneath the obvious differences. We're animals too, in the long run.

I don't think anthros owning pets is any creepier than humans owning pets, actually. My perception of the role of a pet "owner" is to simply be a friend and caregiver. The reason I keep pets is to ensure that I'm caring for another living thing that can't fully care for itself. It's not much different from people who look after children or handicapped people. Anthros are basically animals with human capabilities. So I don't see why they shouldn't take care of pets, if they're capable of doing so and have the responsibility.

However, a pet-to-owner relationship that goes beyond basic companionship IS creepy and disgusting, whether it's a human or anthro.

But nope, it'll remain a sketch. I appreciate sketches for their down-to-earth, "raw" feel. It gives them a special quality that works best for portraying certain ideas and emotions, such as this. ^^
