One of my favorite novels that includes Furs as a big part of the plot (In the book it's referred to as "evolution therapy".). It's a murder mystery set in the future with a 30's retro feel. If you're a reader, check it out.

I came to your page specifically to name your Icon. And here I find you outed it yourself. I found this book by accident, browsing in my library. It was so awesome. Pulp novel feel, with furries. I have to get it. And Amnesia Moon, another one he did, There's furries in that, too.
Yes,that's how I found it too. I worked at a library for some years and I found the title and cover so compelling that I had to read it.
Amnesia moon was also very good. Did that have the McDonald's cult in it or was that a different Letham novel? I suppose it had furries in it. One. The girl with the coat of silky brown fur.
Makes you wonder if Letham might be a bit of a fur himself...

I haven't read it yet. I need to get all of his books and read them, just in case there's furs in them. I love seeing "accidental" furriness. I also loved the bleak and hopeless "Non-ending" of "Gun." It was a very classy switchup AND homage to the pulp style he was going for.
He might just like anthro animals. Which makes him a fur. But he probably never thought to identify with them. I'm pretty damn sure Mercedes Lackey is, though. Read "Chrome Circle" and check out one of the locations that they go to. They emerge out from under a bandstand into the corner of a park, filled with anthros. It's very telling. Misty has been around FM.

It's been a bit since I last read it, but basically: A guy discovers that he has magical powers, and finds there's a whole magical culture in the world, hidden from humans. And, he meets up with, and hooks up with, a young Kitsune girl. They shuffle off on some adventures, and her mother, with a group of other magical folks, set off to save them from a force that's out to get them. And, like I say, they stop in at what is, for all intents and purposes, FurryMUCK.
