Dialogues:
Voolvif Monn: But how could you possibly know... Hrrrgh!
Rashka: Take it easy, friend! - You urgently needed a surgery. Our doctor could save you.
Voolvif Monn. Is this...?!
Ûllfr Amarok: Unfortunately yes... It is a temporarily false exit. I hadn´t all the required tools at hand, so I had to improvise. The Bacta cured your body from the poison and infections. But your organs had been badly wounded. A part of your lung collapsed, your colons were partly ripped...

Don't worry! The colon was only partially lacerated, so it can still work! Its just sometimes quicker decisions and safer options are better than traumatizing the body.
Some individuals' bodies don't do as well with surgery in comparison to others - whether or not its interacting with the organs for longer periods of time or simply the anesthetics used. So for now it was likely a better decision!
Though the rest of the surgery to repair the colon will have to come at some point if the plan is to restore the colon's function!

I love that you took the time and energy to show the consequences of a blaster bolt to the body. Now I’m worried about his ability to fight in the future. Best case, it’s temporary, but that’s a window in which the Empire could kill him. Worst case, damage is permanent and his ability to fight is forever limited.
It reminds me of Darth Vader. When he lost his limbs he lost 40% of his connection to the Force and wasn’t as agile with robot limbs. It was so bad, Sidious tried to replace Vader a few times.
On the flip side, this probably means he can’t go off on his own. Even if he can fight a little, he will still need allies by his side in battle. This makes me hopeful he will stay with the crew.
In any case, the wound establishes consequences and stakes while minimizing (if not outright eliminating) plot armor. Not enough people do this so thank you for giving us a much needed dose of realism.
By the way, I love the names you gave the Shistavanen. Amarok, Bisclavret, Valkodlak, and the other names originate from mythical and folklore wolves and werewolves. Except Pêêr Stûpp, who I believe (correct me if I’m wrong) is based on Peter Stumpp who was a historical figure accused of being a werewolf.
The depth and Easter eggs were overdue for a shout out.
By the way, was Voolvif poisoned too? Or was Amarok elaborating on the abilities of a Bacta tank?

Thank you very much for this detailed comment. It means much to me.
Yes, I wanted to give my SW fan fiction a little bit more realism and a little darker, dirtier look, for we are following a non human crew of protagonists here.
I am still curious on how such a thing could be possible, that the loss of limbs could deplete the connection to the force. My approach to the reason why Vader´s ability to move was limited was just because of the reason that he had to use robot limbs and his overall suit and helmet were heavy.
Wow. I am really impressed. You even noticed that feint hint towards Peter Stumpp, who really was a historical figure and the only one sentenced to death in a proper trial for the crime of being a werewolf. But there is more: Pêêr´s Sirname Stûpp is based on a german folklore crossroad demon named "Stüpp", that was said to appear as a werewolf. This demon ambushed nightly wanderers on crossroads, chased them, jumped on their backs and forced them to carry them piggy back style, until the panicing victim dies, or until they reached another crossroad with a cruzifix or until the rooster called forth the new dawn.
Fun fact: Pêêr Stûpp in my comic will feature this detail too in battle.^^
I added the fact that Bacta can be an antidot to poison partly to let readers know, what Bacta actually can do, if they are not familliar with SW lore.

While working on my book, I did extensive research on werewolves and wolf-like monsters, but I never heard of Stüpp before. I have to say it’s as funny as it is terrifying.
Thank you for adding the info on the Bacta tank, as this was an unknown fact to me.
You are correct about Vader’s suit being a handicap; I think Sidious even did this on purpose to keep Vader from killing him as per The Rule of Two. As for why he lost Force connection, I heard it was because when he lost his limbs he also lost the midichlorians within them and the power they provided.
I find this detail iffy though. Because then Force potential could then be influence by creature size; which contradicts what Yoda said about size not mattering.
I’m already excited about this future battle involving Pêêr Stûpp. Conflict always gets my adrenaline going, especially the when there’s dark realism involved.
Im more invested in this comic than anything the official cannon has produced.

That sounds cool. What is your book about?
The reason why the Stüpp is not so familiar among werewolf fans, is simply because this demon can appear as a werewolf, but is not limited to this shape. Depending on the region in Germany and even in Austria, his appearence change. In some parts, he is a big black dog with red glowing eyes, in some other parts a white ghostly stallion, and in some other region, he appears as a calf.^^ Of course the names vary as well, but the connecting feature is the fact, that they ambush people on crossroads and force them to carry them.
Ah, that is the reason. But I admit, George Lucas did an unlucky choice to add the Midichlorian detail to the plot, for it festroyed the omnipresent life energy of the Force, that doesn´t matter for size or strength. I allways prefered the thought, that whoever can muster the best focus and freedom of mind, they are the more powerful with the Force.
Midichlorians render the Force as something biological. I preferred it to be like with artistic skills. The basics, everyone have got, but only a few can train them to true perfection.
Only that much about Pêêr Stûpp´s battle sequence: It will be just a one panel shot as a flashback. But there will be plot driving battles too. A chase bedween two star ships and a starfighter battle.
Thank you very much. That means much to me.

It’s amazing the things one can find in folklore. Stüpp is no exception.
The fandom has mixed feelings on the midichlorians. I myself don’t like or dislike them, but I also like your idea of the Force better.
I look forward to all future pages of this comic. Even a one panel shot of Stûpp doing his thing is still enjoyable, and I can’t wait to see the battle of the star ships.
My book is a high fantasy series based loosely on real modern history.
There are many conflicts going on. The evil empire is conquering territories and committing atrocities, while noble houses within empire fight among themselves, and there is concern that the dark lord will be released and turn the world into a waking nightmare.
None of the ideas are original, but I plan to play with them in different ways.
Anyone can use magic, but there’s a price to it and that makes people hesitant to use it.
There are many fantasy races (humans, monsters, beast men, Fey, et cetera) but discrimination is rampant and goes in every direction. Also, free will means that not everyone of a single race thinks the same way.
Time period is closer to modern times than most fantasy so guns are the primary weapon, though swords sometimes become relevant in niche situations.

I can assure you, that every single story has been told allready in one way or the other. Adventures, that living creatures can experience are limited. The stories need to be placed within a frame of well known details, that we can see in real life. If that frame is surpassed, it will enter the realm of abstraction and that is not everyone´s cup of tea.
Your story seems to have influences from Star Wars, Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings, mixed in with some steam punk or diesel punk elements. That sounds promising. Good luck for your project.
Do you plan posting outtakes of it here on FA?

I might do that. I discovered that it’s normal for writers to scrap entire chapters and so I may want to post them as a sort of “deleted scene”.
And since a number of my characters are beast folk it would be appropriate to put it on furaffinity.
Thank you so much for the encouragement.

Indeed.
I wanted to show, that warfare is not as clean as it is shown in the Star Wars franchise. I wanted to portray a somewhat darker approach to this topic.
And the old Shistavanen said it himself: The false exit is temporarily. So I guess there is hope to some complete healing.

Given that there was that fall from the cliff, as well as the amount of exertion he'd been forced through and how we saw his wounds getting reopened multiple times, little wonder there was additional organ damage. The broken rib likely causing that collapsed lung and with the position of one of the blaster burns, likely a resulting nick to the colon and could have been further ruptured with the fall.
Even aside from potentially bleeding out then, the ruptured colon would have likely meant that there would be a rather slow and painful death from sepsis, so the Bacta at least managed to save his life and cure the infection but necessitating this measure, though I think after overcoming his initial shock I think Voolvif will consider it far preferable to the lingering nature of death.
If it does come to the worst case, taking Fennec Shand's example in the Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett, there would likely be the option for a cybernetic replacement if complete healing for the colon isn't possible, likely something more compact and internal so Voolvif would be able to be fully functional.
At the moment extensive recuperation and a period of adjustment required, though perhaps a blessing as it necessarily gives him some time to process what's happened and will perhaps stop him from a snap emotional decision that could place him in further danger.
Highlights for this page, another wonderfully expressive face for Voolvif, Rashka's gentle show of compassion and seeing the grizzled grandfatherly Amarok make his first appearance in the comic, looking rather huggable.

Oh, it wasn't awful, it was troublesome. Awful was how I felt before I got it, when I was dying because my intestine was being eaten away by Crohn's disease (no sympathy needed - I've been better for over 10 years now). Once I had the what's-it installed I felt great :3
