Oculus Tummy Sizes
Oculus has a peculiar reproductive system. Once a month he must lay eggs even if they aren't fertilized. (Typically in a clutch of about 5) They are about the size of a small chicken egg (give or take) and are sought out by mortals because of their medicinal properties. They can cure most known diseases and go for a high price on the black market. When fertilized, his eggs grow to be about the size of a goose egg. They take 3 months to fully grow, then another month after they are laid before they hatch. They are laid through the ovipositor, but fertilization takes place through the vaginal opening.
Because Oculus is a one-of-a-kind and a deity of death, the eggs can be fertilized by any species of any dimension and they will always produce only one type of creature. A Decay demon. They look like large black slugs, with four sprouted eyes, and a wet mucus that will begin to decay anything it touches. They live for about a year and are attracted to rotting corpses. From the moment they hatch, there is no parenting. They have all the instincts they need to survive on their own and will simply leave the protective nest when they feel like it. Because of this nature, Oculus doesn't stay with them at all. He lays the eggs in a hole somewhere and then just leaves.
This piece is here to showcase the different belly sizes that you will see throughout this cycle. But be aware that this is just an average estimate. He could produce more or less eggs during the month so tummy size can vary.
