This plush is made with faux fur, minky and a small bit of custom dyed minky for the paws. The claws are made of stiff felt, and the stockings are made of stretchy mochi minky. They stand at about 18 inches from the top of the head to the tips of the toes. The details on this plush are machine embroidered and appliqued. Their torso and upper part of the legs are stuffed not as firmly so they can sit, though they need adjusting and some support. There is a pouch of polypellets in the rump, tail and upper part of the legs for a little extra supoort. Their tail is floppy! :) Stockings are removable and can be slipped on and off, like regular socks.
Fun facts!
Another cool plush that had faux fur provided for me by the owner! ^u ^ This sweetheart had almost all of the faux fur detailing integrated in the pattern! The smaller tufts like the 2 bits on the front torso, 2 on the back, tail tip, chin and a small bit on the forehead to extend the "mane", were all handsewn.
This pattern is a heavily edited version of my 3 previous Sergal plushies! I'm getting closer to being extremely happy with it! Not to say I'm not happy with this pattern, but I did take major steps forward! ^u ^
I was hellbent on making to stockings able to be slipped on and off. I have little to no experience with stretchy fabric as a clothing accessory, and youtube was a life saver! Unfortunately my machine (or needle?) didn't agree with zigzag stitching, especially when it bunched or skipped but i'm learning a lot! :) I wanted to keep the stockings like a tube and not an exact copy of the leg pattern, and it was mostly a success! I attempted to applique to stripes, but colorblocking was the way to go with the stretch. :)
