Bound by Kinship: Team Divinity!
This piece is part of the "Bound by Kinship" YCH by
Bayden! It's based off his own Pokémon Mystery Dungeon x Monster Hunter series, Monster Mystery! Personally, I'm completely in love with his project, seeing how close both of those games are to me. So it was impossible to pass up such an opportunity! The artist is a joy to work with as well!
Also, I can't forget to mention that Helios is owned by
AshmanTheZinogre, who I joined up with for this commission! Who's also another wonderful artist, by the way.
Young Mizu has finally completed all the training she needs to join the ranks of the Guild and explore for the good of monsterkind! But first, she must form an exploration team with someone else to enter. Naturally, she turned to her best friend (and cuddly fluffball) Helios to be her team partner. Not one to turn down such a request, he happily accepts her offer, happy to start a grand adventure with such a friend as Mizu!
They both enter the Guildmaster's chamber, eager to see whether they will be accepted into the Guild as a pair. She welcomes the two, and accepts them into the Guild-- so long as they have a name for their team, and a color for their team badge. Surprised, they both looked at each other; neither had thought of a name. Pondering for a moment, they both started to think, until Mizu came up with a name she thought would fit the two of them perfectly: Team Divinity! She thought of her mask enshrining her as a deity, and of his ability to summon a glowing halo as bright as the sun. Helios agreed to the name, of course, liking the thinking behind it. Then came the next part... color.
Naturally Helios wanted orange. But Mizu, feeling orange was not a soft color on its own, rejected the idea, and proposed her own: pink. Now Helios didn't disagree to it immediately, but it was clear to Mizu that he wasn't completely on board with it. To resolve their issue, the Guildmaster combined two badges into one to make them both happy; half orange, half pink. They both loved it!
And so, Guildmaster Misuteri bound them both together by Kinship, making them both together an exploration team! Helios excitedly grabbed the badge and held it up, and Mizu grabbed behind his paw to hold it up with him as their new badge shined. As she held it with him, she said:
"With the power of Kinship between us, there's nothing we can't do!"
