YOu have to make sure you are using a water proof ink! This guy was inked with a brush and india ink.

Try illustration board if you get sick of watercolor paper, it works wonders. I love how you rendered the brush and bottle

Thank you! Illustration board is a bit bulky/heavy for my needs. Since I am still learning the medium I have been trying out the various types/brands of watercolour paper, and this type/brand is one I do not like. There are many that I love. c:

That is an unfortunate problem with illo board. I'm still trying to find a type of paper that will hold up well to being used for conbadges, no luck so far.

What's wrong with 140lb paper?

poor sweet okami are NOT for cleaning your brushes on.

(why illo board? won't high finish 80lb stock do it? (forgive my ignorance if i'm so being))
(there's some kind of plasticoated stock too, but i doubt it will take most media very well, and sorry, i have no idea who makes it. i remember using it in color printers and copiers, but it does take a long time for whatever is done on it to dry thoroughly enough to not smear, as pretty much nothing actually penitrates it)

I'm not sure what you are asking? 80lb paper is really flimsy, I use 140lb watercolour paper.
