Generally, I don't believe in WIP's. I think they're a bit too flashy, a bit too 'look at me!' ... especially when an artist posts one every day, or two out of every three submissions in their gallery is a work in progress.
But this .... well, I just wanted to share. ^_~ This was done on paper, with pencil, then inked with my wonderful, wonderful, Micron pins. As is my habit (most of the time), I then scanned it before going to the actual coloring process, just in case I screwed up.
I didn't. As also is my habit, or at least my favorite medium, I used colored pencils. As I've been taught, no millimeter that's been colored has only one color -- the hair has at least four in there. I shaded, I highlighted, I even used my blender pencil. It came out KICK ASS. So, I take the finished product to the scanner, then bring it back, put it on my computer, resize it ...
And cringe. Boys and girls, scanners and colored pencils do not, repeat, DO NOT play nice together. It came out looking like the blotchiest coloring job ever.
I have never been happier that I've saved lineart. So, I pulled the lineart into the GIMP, set it to 'multiply' (thank you, thank you, thank you, evil_art_nazi, for your awesome tutorial!), and colored it.
I like it with just the flat colors. It looks like an artwork done by Roy Lichtenstein, one of his cartoon redos. Sort of. Just with the colors, and the dark inks ... nevermind.
So, I wanted to share this with the community. My first, and probably last, ever WIP.

LOL, calm down a bit, she's quite the handful anyway. Not only personality wise (the cold, calculating type, who has very little to say, but actually has a heart of gold under all that ice), but also physically -- she's a new lycan (werewolf) still trying to work out what that means, and how it works.
