Digital space art is nice and more realistic, but I feel more satisfied doing it in pencil since I am following no one in how I do it. No one else really does it in pencil besides this one anthro artist that did doodles of it which I just to happen to see. That artist is no longer around but I took the quality to the next level, merging my knowledge of digitally manipulated planets with pencil.

in a miniature art contest. This one did not win anything but the other won 3rd place. I did not feel 2nd place deserved to beat either of these and did not like the judges choice for the 1st place person. I felt they had a MUCH better entry then it or mine that did not win anything.
The rings in front are messed up because I was trying something tricky with them to make them semi-transparent like. Had this been a bigger picture I might have pulled it off, but this time it was just too small for me to do. And you do not hear that often from me.

One doesn't often see celestial pieces in traditional media, at least not as fine examples as this. Even I would prefer digital had I the means to do so when drawing something spacey. But that just makes the traditional pieces stand out perhaps.
I think the rings look just fine. :3

Yah, but even of the few traditional space art picture done out there, most of them are paintings rather then pencil. =3
Actually, if you have a someone full version of Photoshop, about "7" or higher, you can do quite will on them, even with just a mouse. The tutorials are ultra easy on DA. Or at least I think they are. Faaaaantastic.

Yes, pencil is even harder to do realistically. It's usually my weapon of choice, but I have more of a cartoonist approach with dark outlines and unlikely colors. And I like to splash the paint. :3
I see, maybe it's time I invest in a computer instead of using this dumb phone!
