Use of the seat belt in binding Tial, almost makes me wonder if this might have been an impulsive move by Caba, deciding on the spot to abduct Tial for ransom and he's just sort of making it up as he goes along, which could make it in some ways more dangerous for Tial, if perhaps a little easier to outsmart him. Though if they can surreptitiously manage to disentangle themselves or find the release button, might be safest.
