really? all i can think about when i see a giraffe's tongue is when they stick it up their nose.

it's so they can look pretty for one another, you wouldn't wanna make on another giraffe if he/she had a booger would you? I mean what if your tongue got up their nose by accident? Or maybe that's some kind of exotic ritual for them to tongue each others nostrils?

I think naming a character partly depends on why/how they exist. People have the names they do partly because of their family & where they come from--if Giraffitti is like a person, with a story, a history and a future, then that's where her name will come from (is her family rich or poor, broken or intact? as an African species, does she live in/come from Africa? is she an immigrant, or a descendant of immigrants somewhere else (real or fictional)? and so on)...if she's just for drawing, or more like a mascot in a way, "Giraffitti" is fine, it's cute & to the point, or name her after a favourite thing.
