I think she's shocked and still a bit in disbelief.
Her fate kicked her hard her whole life, (pretty literally) and she even put up with it.
And now there is a man who wants to have her by his side and never let her go.

An interesting fact.
Chakona is not an Earth - so there are slightly different laws and customs there. Chakats also have slightly different customs.
Mark, Emily, and Delfina are married. They even had a small wedding dress party at their home for their family. It was a holiday for his own small circle of people.
Liliana goes by the last name Sanders (although Heavenly Star also goes by the last name Sanders).
But Emily and Delfina did not change their last name, - the couple simply decided that it was "an unnecessary waste of time and a relic of the past, and they are fine as it is."
Each of them has their own right of ownership and their own funds, but they trust each other so much that they can use each other's assets when needed.
I think this is a much greater manifestation of love and trust than "quick marriage, quick divorce, unhappy children, and a long division of property after divorce." As is the case with couples on Earth.

sethtriggs For which I am very grateful for his help in portraying all this - because without his vision and pictures I would never have been able to tell this story. He really did a lot for me.
We still have "Tales of Chakona Discord for fans" - a cozy place where we usually gather. But after the recent ...flooding infestation, the rules were changed slightly. So ask around for an invite PM.
