Lush leaves grew from bamboo shoots, vibrant green in color. Underbrush plentiful here, ferns and fungus, hidden in the cool damp area. Bamboo knocking against each other as the wind whipped about. Smell of soil in the air, fresh from a season's first rain fall. Some say she smell just like that, that she was in her element, able to disappear and reappear as she pleased. Damp earth undisturbed by her footfalls, underbrush hide any traces of her. She keep her tail coiled in on itself, this place was sacred, one should not disturb. She had been told as a child that Goddess Rōtasu once made her home here. Odd that lotus flowers would bloom among a pond found in a bamboo grove or forest. It is said the lotus in her pond are white with blue tips, that dragonflies will lead you to them. Yet no dragonflies had been spotted and the pond dried up long ago. Should one make the trek, they would find shrines along the way. A lot of older Fur still pay tribute to each shrine, hoping to glance a vision of Goddess Rōtasu's beauty. It is an endless trail, one with many ponds, twisting trails and surrounded by bamboo."Leave it as you found it."A warning from her parents, should one not have tribute: disturb not the fortune of others. Tori gates notified one of a shrine, thick as a tree trunk, supporting the inlay that connected the two poles of birch lumber. Hokori gazed upon the shiny trinkets, Pieces, dried flowers, overflowing the bowl for tribute below a statue of what was suppose to be a depiction of Rōtasu. Cracked from ages old, larger then a house, smoothed from the rains, the stone stood still. Orbs gazing into those that passed by, on looking and guarding. It's color faded and chipped, waterfall of sticky nectar migrating from the maw. Tribute lay among the ground, fallen from the stone bowl. Tempting with the shiny metal, glistening from the beams of light between the stalks. Would it be considered stealing? How long had it not been in the bowl, maybe... Hokori shakes her head, temptation a cruel mistress. She would rather not risk the wrath. Instead she picks up any she finds, placing it back into the bowl, where it stays. Fist in her palm, she bows deeply. Only then does she wander more, until the light nearly vanishes, not an uncomfortable way. Until the shade cools the area from the muggy air, below several stalks of bamboo, grass bends in the wind almost inviting. She leans against the stalks. Just as she looks skyward, there is a buzzing, skimming long thorax bug. She is unable to make it out as it darts. Maybe dragonflies are still around or maybe it's a damselfly, both are very similar. Hard to tell apart when they skitter around like they do. Her nose skyward, bamboo swaying, light glimmering between leaves.AndyD did a really grand job capturing what I requested. One day I would love to really visit a bamboo grove/forest. A quiet place to wander walk, to just be still. Hokori looks beautiful in her outfit.Fursona/Character
