As the smallest, weakest, youngest member of the Blades warband, Maul was often bullied and ridiculed by the others. That was until he found himself under the tutelage of a skilled necromancer. Turns out, Maul had a knack for necromancy which elevated him to, arguably, the most powerful member of the Blades.
That was until he, along with the rest of the Blades, was betrayed by their lieutenant and murdered in his sleep. Thankfully his old mentor was not only able to revive Mauls body, but his consciousness too. Unfortunately, Mauls body was already badly decayed by this point and he now needs to seep the life essence of his opponents to renew himself. Not that he finds this hard to do. In death, his powers have only waxed.
The trouble with having ADHD is that you often start a project but immediately lose motivation for it the second you take a break, leaving you with a lot of unfinished projects.
For me, this means I have a lot of half finished art pieces laying around. This particular piece was something I started years ago but never got round to finishing. Well I figured rather than start a new piece, I might be able to work on an older piece. A few hours later and hey presto, we have this beauty.
I used a different technique for this. Rather than draw the lineart by hand, scan it onto my laptop then painstakingly draw over every single line in a new layer using a mouse since I never got the hang of using tablets, I simply coloured/shaded around the original lines. The end result is a less smooth lineart but something much quicker, easier and something that puts less strain on my wrist.
