Woo, headshots.
Unlike your typical dragon, Eva doesn't breathe fire. She squirts bioluminecent fluids.
Lots of critters squirt substances as an offencive or defencive tactic, ranging from the squid to giant petrel ansd horned toad, to more dramatic creatures like the bombardier beetle, and the spitting cobra. I find fire to be a bit hazardous for Hagchnalei, the environment Eva lives in though, so she excretes a glowing fluid. I suspect that she probably uses a mixture of chemicals including luciferin, luciferase, and an ATP-rich solution, which glows when it comes into contact with oxygen, but I still have more research to do. There’s so much bioluminescence to examine. Anyway, she can’t so much harm, but she can temporarily blind, like a squid, and the dripping liquid makes tracking prey easy.
Anywho, just playing around with Eva. Initially, I had the irritant 'glowstick' bioluminescent fluids premixed and expelled through a few glands adjacent to the sublingual salivary gland (She basically “Gleeked”) but now I have the separate chemical components produced in secondary glands in front of the partoid salivary glands, or squirted from the fangs like a spitting cobra's. I'll manage to work it out eventually.
I'm also playing around with facial muscles. I like the expressions that mammals get, I enjoy snarls and such, but as initially drawn, the muscles for baring her teeth like a dog wouldn't really be developed or present... so, I'm poking around at that.
Anyway... just some playing around. Nothing special.
