Dundra, and the tome of snow and ice
“Aaahh, at last!. The elden tome of the olden storms of ice and snow, finally it be ours…” The great ice wizard said, walking by the frozen statues of the keepers that kept it sealed and protected, as he does so with a triumphant smirk on his face.
He’s been looking for this book for quite a while now, and to think that it had been hiding under snout this whole time, preposterous.
This book is said to hold the very essences of the mightiest, and most powerful of snow storms that has ever been. And it’s also said that whoever opens it, could very well bring forth a new ice age to the world we call home.
But as he had reached the ornate pedestal it sat upon, and raised it from its ornate throne of marble and cloth with both his hands, a pained and concerned voice called out behind him.
“*Cougth!* * Cougth!* Stop!. You don’t know what you are doing you damn fool!. No one can just control the pure power of one of nature’s aspects!. It will consume you! Body and soul! *Cougth!!*” They yell, coughing up a glob of blood, thanks to the sharp piece of ice sticking out the side of their stomach, as they lean against one of the walls.
“Pah!. The great sir Dundra does not worry for such a ‘Mediocre’ threat. For all that is magic of ice, is our’s to command by birth right!” They proclaim, as they unstrap the straps that kept the book shut. And in doing so, Blue arcane light began to emanate and leak out from both outside and within it, as the air in the room started to turn cold and rigid, and the ground from which the wizard was standing, slowly started to freeze over with ice.
“*Blegh* Then you are a bigger fool than our order had thought. That is why we kept it secured!. To keep it away from madmen like you!. You risk bringing upon us all a great second ice age, just to fuel your hunger for power!!” They yell again, this time with more vigor and anger. Yet it did little to waver the Wizard, as he merely laughed the defender’s words off.
“And what wrong is in wanting a bit of power?. We are feeble in body and bones, so the only thing we had to use was our minds and wits, to combat those with more physical might then we. And you speak as if we can’t control it?, HA!. Don’t make the Great Dundra laugh!. The lesser fools before we, who tried to use the powers of the storms, were weak and blinded by fear of its might!. But we are not like those fools!, for ice runs in our veins, and it shall do our bidding, else we’ll make it do such!” They proclaim, as they flip open the tome.
And in doing so, an explosion of arcane ice magic spews forth from the book in a shock wave around him, as everything around quickly got frozen over, including the defender that was yelling at him, as they threw up their arm in a feeble attempt at defense, only to then get turned into an ice cube.
Small Ethereal creatures began flying out of the book as well, and fly around the wizard at a fast pace, while said wizard was chanting to the storm.
“Listen to us, ye olden storms!. Grant us your mighty winds!, so we may blow our enemies away in your name and might!. Grant us your Snow and Ice!, so we may Freeze and shatter our foes in your name and might!. Grant us your power!, so we can remind the people of this world, to fear and respect your Power and Glory!. We, the Great sir Dundra, pledge our soul to you!. And in return, you follow the Great Dundra’s Commands!!!” They yell out into the stormy winds of ice and cold.
And with a powerful gust of wind, the arcane blizzard that howled and wailed around them, dispersed into icy dust, which now slowly trickled down around him in a glittering shower, as well as throughout the whole of the chamber, which was now completely frozen over by white snow and turquoise ice.
Dundra stood there, open book in hand, and just looking down at it. Until a little light blue, ethereal bird landed on the open book’s pages, chipped a echoey chip, and looked up at him.
And what the bird would see, would be the mad grinning face of a very pleased Wizard, as said wizard let out a little chuckle, and said. “We knew that the storms of old would be fierce, but this show of power was beyond our expectations!. Yet here we are, now commanding said old storms!. Hohoho!, ohh… hmm, but there is still soo much to learn from these storms, so much untapped potential for us to make use of…” they say, clapping the book shut, and crushing the ethereal bird that was on it, as ice dust blows out from between the pages. Then they turn around, and walk out the way they came, leaving the chamber an icy tomb.
