This is a carolina anole. They're rather abundant on my back porch. I like them as I think they're pretty and they are very good at keeping bugs off my porch.
While not true chameleons, they can actually change color from green to brown.

she looks a bit gracid to tell the truth, as for males, have you tried talking with them?
(no, I'm not crazy)
walk up to a place one is sitting, and bob your head once, keep eye contact and make sure he sees you, stay put about three feet away, and watch his posture. he might just sit there and look at you. you also might be able to lure a male somewhere useing a twig with a little leaf at the end, wiggle it not to far away and sometimes they will give chase.

Don't they change color based on hydration or mood? Like, brown is pissy/thirsty/ill while green is contented? Makes a bit of sense considering they should be happier in summer and spring, and worse off in the fall.
Used to have a pair as pets. The male was rather robust, you could handle him and he ate some pretty big bugs given his size (they also LOVE jelly). The female, well she was very shy, flighty and escaped, only to reappear months later missing her tail and with a wound on her side, likely from the cat.
