Take into account that this ship also needs some space for engine room, briefing room, cargo and vehicle transport bay, and chambers in which cannon batteries are concealed until they are ready to be used.

Then it sounds more like a small air fortress than a dropship, seeing how dropships are typically meant to do nothing but deploy troops, and feature only weapons for repelling enemy ground troops during deploying procedure.
