An old wolf finally decides how he wants to spend the rest of his life.
Written (in questionably-timely fashion) for this week's Thursday Prompt, which mandated a 365-word response.
An appropriate response to the prompt "when will a joke slide?", as long as you dubiously interpolate the parts of speech of "will", "joke", and "slide".
As always, any and all feedback is much appreciated! Anything that helps me write better stories for you is highly valued ^^. I'm particularly interested in how cohesive the story's theme was -- with so few words, I wasn't sure if I established the mood correctly.

Only if you're willing to share, of course. I really enjoy writing this kind of stuff, but I'm always nervous that I'm being too on-the-nose.
