The black one looks like the dropship from aliens. The other three oddly enough want me to think of the eagle from space 1999. Or at lest the same basic design idea, the 4 thrusters, the pilot capsule at the front and all, with what looks to be removeable, and changable cargo packs. If anything the two in the bacground, still in space tend to make that more visable, as they can be seen without a cargo container.

Space 1999 was a tv show from the 60s I think it was, pretty cool, I rather loved the ship design, was very much a mass produced multifuntion ship. 4 legs with lift engines, primary thr ust in the rear with a couple big thrusters, with a load of diferent changable cargo modules, from passanger, to, cargo, to crane, to tanker. All sorts of things.
I was just looking at how the two in the background basicly seem to be the same fraimwork as the three in the bay, just with a diferent module between the lift legs. Resalution is too low for my old eyes to make out too much detail really though.

The big haulers would be Alpha or Beta, the big 60 ton ships that Neal uses to get from orbit / The Folly to the ground, then back up into space.

The question I have is what ship is that in the background? Another freighter, coming alongside to swap cargo away from station eyes? :)

Sometimes I can get a story idea going in the background while 'playing' - and sometimes it doesn't work (or the idea can't be used in the story ...)

Never played the game so I wouldn't have known one way or the other.

If you like you can follow the links to DAZ and see if/how close someone modeled it from the game.

wonder if i could build the Folly in SE.........hmmm I think I got me a good idea for my next project ;)
