My attempt at this week's Thursday Prompt. This week the word for the prompt was "side".
As always, please be sure to check
ThursdayPrompt for more.
Didn't quite make my personal deadline this week (unfortunate). Perhaps a little bit of a stretch this week, but I think it works okay at least.
On another note, It was exactly a year ago today that I made my first Thursday Prompt post (I didn't start posting to the prompt until about two months later, but that's beside the point). One year of these shorts; I've managed to keep at it for so much longer than I thought I even could. To be honest, I still have days where I wonder why I even bother, but I'm grateful to the great people I've met over the last year who have been so very supportive. Thank you all for more than just reading my silly crap.

Ah, it did feel very dreamlike in the way everyone was treating him, for sure. I almost expected it to turn into a Twilight Zone horror story of some kind, but the dream makes sense.
Side note, he should be glad a place like that was out of burgers. If they had any patties they'd have probably been sitting in a freezer since the 90s. xD

I am very into by The Last Stop Motel as a setting. The dreamlike atmosphere, the run-down facilities (complete with great details about leaking AC units), the way the passively hostile caretakers shuffle to their stations like irritable gods of a long-forgotten shrine... it honestly drew me in. I'd love to read a whole story set in this sort of location. Maybe it only reveals itself to wanderers with no where to go, then traps them in its little half-abandoned ghost town, only letting them out when they find what they were truly looking for, or die trying. Or something. Not to ramble, this setting just really struck me as interesting :>
Also, happy promptaversery! Even though I've only been here a short time, I've enjoyed reading every one of your wonderful stories and insightful comments. Hope to keep seeing you around for some time to come!

A story centered around the Last Stop Motel... hmm... I think you might have actually given me an idea. I'm very glad you seemed to like it, thank you for that and reading over this one.
Also, thank you very much. I'm very grateful you'd take the time to read over my things. Nothing I write up is especially good, but it is fun and relaxing and everyone just reading through it makes it all the better. While I do have some rather off days, I do plan to stick around for a while yet and I hope you do the same.

If you ever do anything with that idea, please do let me know. I'm still thinking about it a couple hours later 👀
I very much enjoy reading what you write. You've taught me a lot already (about describing scenery in particular), and I look forward to learning the lessons you have to teach whenever you're able to teach them ^^

Well, they at least beat a cabin in the middle of the woods, at least. Thank you as always for just reading.
Also, thank you very much. A year of prompts, though it wasn't until you suggested I do so that I actually started posting to the prompt page several weeks later. Thank you again for that; I'm still often intimidated to simply post something, but I am grateful that you suggested I try regardless.

I'm glad to hear you thought it was enjoyable, thank you much for that.
I hadn't considered bringing up the guilt sooner, but now that you mention it, I think that would have worked better (if I could manage to pull it off, of course). Thank you as always for your thoughts and advice, always appreciated.
