My Wonderful Cat
About a month and a half ago, I heard a lone cat meowing and calling out on the street in front of my home. The moment I opened the door and called to him, he made himself at home. A loud bengal cat, quite small but an adult. He was so charming, so sweet, and VERY talkative.
I fed him shreds of white chicken and kept him with me for the night as I tried searching his owner. A small piece of me selfishly wanted to never find them, but I knew he was a runaway and not abandoned. The next afternoon, a woman called and thanked me profusely for finding her cat after he zoomed outside and ran off. She came to my home, collected the little cutie and took off.
Even though it was for only less than a day, it made me realize how empty my home felt. How I wanted someone I could talk to aloud, to hug on and cherish. Keep in mind I only have had two big dogs in my life and that was at the age of 17. They still live with my folks and I miss them lots too.
I get a call from a local pet shop (I went there for temporary supplies and shared my info with the owner jic) and it turns out there is a cat that was nearby that needed a home and was put into a vet clinic with many kittens. He was a three year old shorthair, very chill and very quiet. Would be okay with anything done with him. I had hesitations to try again especially since having a pet can be considered a luxury. Eventually I decided (and was convinced) to collect him. Sure enough, he was the first face I saw in the little vet shelter and also the one to climb up on my lap as the kittens attacked my skirt!
His name is Kupo, based on what the Moogles say and also I call him "Kupo Nut" when he is being silly. He has grown his voice after a week with me and loves to either yell or chip at me. He is a total cuddle bug, always wanting to be nearby or on my lap. Even when I crouch down and sit by him or pick him up to hold...he starts purring. Loves to knead my stomach or lap too, thank goodness I have his nails clipped after his vet visit. He does have some digestive and bladder issues so I have to get him special food despite him being such a food obsessed buddy.
He is the very best cat ever and I know all owners will say that, but I am truly lucky to have such a sweet and friendly boy who rarely gives me trouble outside the usual cat moments. I know we are gonna be with each other for a long time even if it will always be just the two of us or if there will be a family grown in my future. Not sure, but I just want to tell everyone thank you so much for the supporting me and my Kupo whether from writing commissions or positive support. You guys are awesome!

I should also make a comment that based on what the vet told me, he had an outdoor life for awhile and the poor baby has broken front fangs. Nothing to be worried over, but I was told he had been bullied a lot either by people or cats (from what the shelter claimed). I am so glad to give him a quiet, happy life!
I do like to mess with him a little by poking his paws and getting into his personal bubble. The results are meows or purrs lol

I'll be willing to bet the cat is more thrilled to have a loving home than you are to give him one. We have a female tabby our dog rescued (along with her 2 remaining kittens) after she was left at an abandoned house. The house even got rescued (after the cat, of course) and now has owners. The cat? She thinks she's in heaven... with her bestie 'Penny the dog' friend who rescued her. BTW... the dog is also a rescue. Crazy world.
