An incredible diptych created by 
cockiestspaniel that I am soooo late in reposting. But here it is! Eithna Alastríona on the left, and her younger brother Aodhán on the right, evincing some of the strange power they possess.
Why is one red and one grey, you might ask! Because they're a blended family, step-siblings, very common back then what with the likely mortality levels and all.

Fosterage even existed in families then, even if the child was NOT orphaned, but the parents were unable to provide much or had handfuls of labor then a friend of the family or another family owing a favor or two can come in and raise them as their own. True fact by the way. 😏 Written in the book "King of the Celts."
