Pearlescent dragon lying on back.
Rendered in Poser using a commercially available model. Default model is green, I adjusted the colors, posed it, lit the scene, and rendered it, then touched it up in photoshop to improve the lighting, add focal blur, and edit out seams.
You may recognize the pose from one of my earlier adult growth animations, in which the dragon was blue, toon rendered, and had no bumpmap applied. It takes a lot longer to render when you apply a bumpmap so I don't have plans at this time to make an animation, but I might do some more stills.
I wish the background was nicer, but I just felt like doing a quick render, and didn't want to get into cutting the character out to add a phootgraphic background. The background there is a lab.
Getting a white dragon to look nice when lit with a number of light sources with different colors is more difficult than it looks. Keeping the highlights from blowing out all over the place was a real chore. The major highlights that remain on the leg and head for example, are intentional and were enhanced in photoshop.
In actuality, the dragon is not white, but rather has a bluish tone for the body scales, and a pinkish tone to the belly, wings, and claws. In addition, the specular highlights of said scales are pink as well. This, and the blue and pink lighting, are what creates the pearlescent look.

Yep, I'm still messing around with Poser. I haven't posted much lately cause I've been too busy and it's too much of a hassle and I didn't have a way to keep everything all neat and tidy in one place, but now that I have an account here I'll start uplaoding stuff again. :)
