Hopper rented out a nightclub in New York City after beating the Newark Pride on their own turf. He held a big party, and invited his Thrust teammates as well as the Pride team.
When point guard Valencia Zeraus took the bait and showed up to the party, Hopper was quick to gloat about his victory by making a pass on the lioness. Not appreciating being hit on by prey, she decked the bunny in the face, putting him on his puffy tail. Frustrated and with his pride hurt, B-Hop retreated, leaving the feline alone.
It would have ended there, had the DJ not announced a dance competition. When Val learned that B-Hop was the best dancer on his team, she yanked the bruised bunny to the dance floor and demanded a quality performance.
She got one. And more.
They've been dating ever since.

To be honest, it has to do with their histories with Onca (Julio). She admired him when she first started out in the league and he was almost taken out of the game by him, which changed Val's views on him and somehow wanted to know what ticked of Onca so much to the point of wanting to do something so violent. Don't follow your prey for too long, you end up seeing sides of them and you start seeing yourself in those sides.
