While Erika is extremely big, she's actually rather short by Araltian standards. A fact that her peers always seem ever so happy to point out and one that seems to frustrate her to no end.
That said a girl can dream of being a little bigger! Turns out that a globe of her entire planet makes for a nice foot rest.
This is also a rare picture of her with hair down instead of in the huge pigtails.

In this rare case, it's actually just a model - whether it's a model made rock and magma and therefore technically still a real planet and such is left up the the imagination. Given that Araltians outright do create planets, it's perfectly possible. All of the other planets she's brought back into her room are real ones though!
If you look out of the window you can see the gravlift, which is also visible on the model smooshed between her toes and the axle of the globe.

That’s quite the large and resilient model of their planet Araltys considering most of thetoys planets she visits, or leaves on her floor after her trips, crumble beneath her powerful paws on impact. Or maybe, whilst she’s seemingly “a disaster at rest” right now, she’s using this model to imagine, plot and simulate all the fun ways of using their planet between, or beneath most the time, her paws so she can get back at her peers for mocking her shorter stature, no one would be able escape the endless wrath of Erika’s continental-calamities(her paws). I also couldn’t help but notice the new nail polish design she’s wearing on her toe claws, they’re so beautiful. There’s a reason why I’ve been mesmerised by her paws for almost a decade, she’s always been my favorite of yours due to her design, her globe spanning size which creates some breathtaking perspectives, and her unabashed love of destruction <3
Yeah, I suspect she's not pressing down TOO hard with those paws of hers, at least not yet! Most planets tend to only have crusts which are a few miles thick, the ones small enough to bring to her home tend to be thinner still.
The nail polish isn't new per-say, but she's got a more reflective finish to them here which given the things in the room let me play with the visual effects there. I like how they came out!
I'm really glad you like her!

This is a cool spin on it, especially since her people are so large that the globes might technically be made the same way real planets are. And if they are, then what's the difference if they could even be seeded with micros as well?
it also might be because Erika is taking up most of the shot, as she intended when she took this picture, but her room looks less cluttered than usual if only because the mess might be out of the shot. This is also a really great pose, I guess she knows how to take a good photo when she wants to stomp something.

Yeah, rocks and metals Araltians have in abundance, but things like plastics and wood are a lot harder for them to get a hold of in large quanities. While they do have trees and such on Araltys with the planet size to creature size being so different, trees are considered of greater importance than perhaps here, and therefore wood is a much rarer commodity. That's not to say they don't use wood at all, it's just less common than here.
And yeah, that globe is definitely big enough to live on!
Her room is probably still as untidy as ever, but most of the stuff has been shoved out of shot. The ancient art of "shoving all the junk onto your bed" is still very much practiced in the far reaches of the galaxy.

That's quite interesting to think about. Although how big is that globe compared to say, Earth's moon? That Macrovision tool is a thing, so you could probably approximate that globe's absolute size by comparison and compare it to the size of our actual moon.
And given that other people have made stories for you where she's picked up micros unknowingly or knowingly, that globe probably is inhabited even if she's not aware of it. Although if the micros have been around her for long enough they will more or less know that she's not a goddess, or at least that's her civilization is technological in nature.
Makes sense. Erika would have grown to be quite skilled at hiding junk when she needed to.
Speaking of Araltians , how much space do they actually control and how would trading work since they seem to be on a much larger scale than anyone else despite the fact there isn't many of them on their planet?

The globe is roughly about a seventh or so of the size of the moon. I'd estimate that it's around 400-500km. So around the size of the dwarf planet Ceres.
It's probably not the safest place to live! One of the planets on one of the higher shelves of her room are probably the safer ones . Out of her reach and a lot less likely to wind up underpaw.
As for the Araltians, they have three major planets. Araltys, Rathsimiir, and Aethor III. They are all roughly the same size with Araltys being the largest, (and the original home planet of the Araltians).
They also have terraformed countless worlds many of which are habited, and some who prefer a quieter life actually live out on the smaller worlds.
For the most part they tend to keep all of their flight paths far away from anywhere that life has been detected. But through either accidents, or planned meeting with worlds that they feel are ready to communicate with, there are a decent number of alien species which Araltians do contact with.
Some of these start as rescue missions to help out species who's worlds are in need of rescue or overcrowding etc. Others are developed enough they're already flying about the galaxy and such. So trading tends to more work based, on a macroscopic to microscopic level. Hey, we need a new planet in between the orbit of our two existing planets. we can offer x years of production in micro-technology for your electronics.

I appreciate that you know that series is actually a dwarf planet even though it's the smallest one.
Fair enough, but micros could have always ended up there by accident without a way to get off of the globe. And you know how ambitious some micros can be with where they want to be.
What's the in universe explanation for such large planets? And what are those other two like?
It's interesting to see what alien species they would have contact with, especially since many ones that would be macros to us are still micros today. I know they haven't canonically encountered humans [ although they have interacted with members of your cast in both your own drawings and content other people have made for you], but would regular humans be the smallest species they've ever encountered? That's what Erika seemed to imply during that really old Q&A you made.
Micro technology would definitely be useful for them, because it would outsource it and allow it to be done to her degree of efficiency that they can't do themselves. And I do appreciate the rescue mission part as shown by August's terraforming in the past. it shows that just because smaller creatures are smaller it doesn't make them useless.

Oh absolutely. Anywhere in Erika's room is a very silly and also very dangerous place to be. But hey if you enjoy extremely wild views and size differences it's a great place to find yourself.
Araltys is naturally large. It's a creation was a rouge planet (a planet with no star) that strayed into the inner system and it became an extrasteller capture. It's already high mass pulled the other rocky planets inward unyielding they eventually collided making it bigger still and pulling in more mass. The new planet ended up extremely large for a rocky planet that way. It eventually cooled and become stable and they ended up with Araltys.
As for the other two planets, after doing many calculations on the conditions that created Araltys, early space faring Araltians started to work on terraforming new planets using similar methods. Those planets for big enough for them to live on but not quite as large as their home world. But they're mostly the same, complete with the two gravlifts, just a bunch smaller.
Araltians are so big that they can absolutely make macros feel very very small! Species who find themselves 10x bigger than everything else they've discovered are just a rounding error to the Araltians. 6ft or 60ft makes no difference at all when you're 6 million ft tall!

Well it's a good thing I enjoy all of those things!
That's quite an interesting origin for how that would work. My guess is that plate tectonics would reflect that it was made out of several different form of planets. I wonder how Araltians first discovered how big they were?
I suppose I could have seen that coming, I imagine it might have taken a while to do. Plus that would help them actually spread their civilization despite their huge size to the point where many of them could live together instead of just the equivalent of 1 household per planet.
Agreed. That's why I love extreme size differences and size tearing. They would also be good at having their legal department put self-proclaimed macro menaces in place and I wouldn't be surprised if that's exactly what their non domestic law enforcement does.
Something else that old Q&A made me think is that if I remember correctly Erika vastly overestimated the size of humans. Is that just because she's young or do Araltians have no other example of a species that's as small as us?

Absolutely. The planets would have all collided at different times, but I imagine the world was then subjected to a longer than average hadeanic age as the world cooled and reformed over and over.
Evolution on Araltys took on a very different form to here on Earth where it instead took on a "Survival of the biggest" approach. First in the flora, then in the fauna. Plants would try to grow as large as possible to outsize the competition and gain the most sunlight. And as the larger and larger plants appeared, the trend began with the animal life also. Bigger and bigger species started occupying the now oxygen rich planet for dominance. The biggest of the species always being the most successful and passing those genes onto future generations. As such over the course of millions of years the species on the planet got slowly bigger and bigger. To the point where araltians can look at ancient fossils of species that towered over their distant ancestors and the fossil is the size of a small rodent.
As such I suspect they've known they've been quite big for many many years. However I imagine I suspect that early space age Araltians would have assumed that that's how other worlds evolution works too. Nothing could quite have prepared them to realise just how small some other alien species can be.
Araltys is a big place and some folks just like the idea of having their own planet out in the middle of nowhere. It's very much the equivalent of living out in the countryside for us. Not everyone wants to live in a big city!
Erika as much as other Araltians would have a hard time comprehending just how small 6ft actually is. So it's not out of the ordinary that she would over estimate. We are microbe sized relative to her and I imagine it's hard for humans to imagine microbial scales! So in erikas case it's most likely just ignorance of youth plus just not really being able to comprehend such tiny scales.
Erika would love to deal with macro menaces and things though. "oh no a giant monster is attacking ask your cites! However shall ideal with this microscopic and barely visible threat?" she does like to help even if it probably wouldn't seem like it on first (second, or even third) glance!

That is extremely well thought out. Although it's thinking that the rock composition and the like would be vastly different in different areas of the planet because Araltys had its origin in several different worlds. Then again, that so far back in time that the effect might be minimised if it's even present at all.
Oh, so in this case the fittest was also universally the biggest. Doesn't Araltys orbit a white/A-type star as well? And I like the idea that's how they first discovered how big they were at least on their own world. Looking back at their own evolution made that clear. I wouldn't be surprised if that's taught in there biology classes as a means to contrast their own evolution with that of practically every other species they probably know of.
It honestly makes me wonder if some of them would consent to other beings colonising their bodies considering that each Araltian is about the size of a moon if I remember correctly. Especially if said Araltian was living on a planet that wasn't designed for their size and thus would need to offer themselves up as habitation for the smaller beings if they wanted to coexist.
Well, she has interacted with humans before in stories other people have written for you, and at least she has magnification equipment so if she did find out about humans she would probably use it although not before stomping something. I remember that happened in one of the stories.
She probably would deal with macro menaces though, although she would cause far more damage than said menace ever could. . Or perhaps she would offer a deal where in exchange for defeating the menace, she gets to return to the planet and play with it or take some land under a Petri dish for her to do whatever she wants with?

Araltys's star is a named Aerylius and it's a Type A blue/white star that's around 556,000,000 km in diameter. One Araltian year is roughly 8 times that on earth.
Science and mathematics are taught extensively and very well from a young age being so fundamental to their society. Their educational system is far more advanced than our own, and even Erika who is known for not being particularly studious would find our schools extremely easy. But they would absolutely be taught about evolutionary routes that other planets and alien life have undertaken.
Araltians are indeed about the size of the moon. I'm not sure how safe living on them would be though. I dare say there would be many occupational hazards involved in such!
As for the macro menaces. Yeah, stopping a macro from destroying a city by flattening a country. "Whoops!" But at least she stopped them right?

Doesn't that type of star still have a significantly shorter lifespan than a G type star does? Of course, since Araltians are so technologically advanced I wouldn't be surprised if they've figured out a way around that.
So basically, our universities would look like kindergarten to Erica? I'm pretty sure even she knows the types of things that are taught in her own universities even though she's not old enough for them yet. It's also interesting to think about what other interesting subjects their size difference would necessitate teaching like the unique way they go about terraforming.
Well, there are differences between individuals with regard to how dangerous living on them would be For instance, I'm sure that August has more training in that with regard to doing it in case of emergencies.
August is also a terraforming expert, so I'm pretty sure getting micros to temporarily live on her would be an emergency she might be trained for. It also helps that I think you said that Araltians fur/ skin or their pawpads are about as thick as Earth's crust.
It makes me wonder whether August has ever had to clean up a mess that Erica has caused. I think you might have actually depicted that but I don't remember if you have. I also remember a story which involved a bunch of micros worshipping Erica is a goddess, so it makes me wonder about a hypothetical situation where they end up worshipping Erika and August as goddesses of destruction and creation respectively.

Almost certainly as they burn hotter and larger. But stars life times are so long that it doesnt' make much a difference. They'll probably have worked out something to extend it anyway if not now, before it becomes an issue!
Perhaps not university level but not far off. They would get to that shortly after though. They age slower too so they've just got more school (sorry Erika) and longer to learn also. Erika's expected to be able to do space flight calculations to intercept orbiting bodies and such from a young age and the types of things she'll be learning in school and being asked to do for homework are beyond our current level of comprehension. But yeah even though Erika dislikes school and learning, she's still extremely clever and well educated by our standards. It's just that by Araltian standards, her classmates are far more studious, and August ahead again by even more. Astronomy would definitely be a core part of their curriculum given how important space is. Computing, programming and such are all important and they do still have access to the art, which are more Erika's thing. Music and art are subjects where she can express herself through making noise / making a mess.
I mean, for August, she rather literally wears a few moons as earrings. So you could absolutely just hang out there. She probably has had to clean up Erika's mess sometimes, but in general Erika flies off into uncharted space and plays about there. People don't miss a planet if they don't know it was there in the first place! August tends to stay in charted space helping improve the local stellar neighbourhood, improving planets for aliens and fellow Araltians.
Being mistaken for gods is a relatively common problem upon first contact with Araltians. Most alien species are NOT expecting to meet an alien species a million times their size and therefore jump to conclusions. As how else could anything else be that big. In the case of the Naridyn, the species orbiting their planet were a devout religious species who, upon seeing Erika concluded that the two being the same were the only logical solution as to how something that big could possibly exist. Gouing along with it is generally looked on extremely poorly by Araltian standards though, it can be looked at as inequality at best, and as a form of slavery at worst so it's why first contact is meant to be handled with extreme caution. And in the case of accidental meetings and such you're meant to try and de-escalate as quickly as possible. Erika's handling of Naridyn was certainly not by the books, but thankfully it all worked out in the end. Erika has made sure that they focus entirely on infrastructure and don't start building temples or things to her. That's not to say that the some of the Naridynians still won't think of her as some kind of Goddess, but at least she's told them she's not and nobody's building religious buildings in her name.

The issue with bigger stars is that the lifespan decreases exponentially. And a type star has a roughly 1 billion year time span before it goes Red giant, meaning that for life to evolve to the same level of sapients as us, it would have had to have began almost as soon as the planet was captured by the star. Therefore, I would not be surprised if they already have some kind of solution to the Red Giant problem.
I do remember that their slower aging is a thing from the old Q&A, and that the images you post aren't necessarily in cronjob logical order in universe. I've looked at a few of them very recently, and this is an example of one of them which implies that Erika could be slightly older than usual https://www.furaffinity.net/view/47190255/
I'm not sure how often I've seen her doing music and art though. Unless she counts her rampaging as art. It's funny to think that despite her underachieving status, she would probably still be considered a genius to us at least for her age. It's quite interesting.
Well, I don't remember if August earrings are habitable, then again she's probably made them habitable even if they're not an ideal habitat. And well what you say is true in your strict canon, it wouldn't be the first time one or both of them have encountered Earth , or at least your characters.
That said, we both know there are a lot of people who would want to live on them. Like how Artie has a permanent residence on Erika's paws. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/26547774/
I also saw a discussion about this exact idea on August's "Lunar Earrings" picture; everything from colonization to the proper way to do first contact https://www.furaffinity.net/view/21304059/
it makes me wonder how often they encounter the inverse like are research ships that want to research them or a civilization that has somehow managed to pre detect one without knowing what they are .
Perhaps they could end up going along with of worship idea for a little while to placate the civilization and then revealing their true nature once the situation has been de-escalated? Kneeling before a God is a good way to get a civilization to listen, even if it's literally just a temporary measure for revealing the correct information and to stop the situation from otherwise spiralling out of control
As for the events of that story, I don't actually remember if August reacted to it in the end or even knew about it, but i'm pretty sure she'd be pleasantly surprised that Erika did something approximating the right thing.

This is true! I'm sure it's a solved problem for them already.
Erika's age in each picture is very much up to interpretation. A lot of it depends on the artist's style or in my case, the types of characters I've been drawing a lot of lately. Sometimes she ends up looking more angular other times more curvy.
There is quite a lot of art of her doing music and art related things but most of them probably haven't been posted yet. I tend to be about a year behind what's being posted publicly.
August's earrings aren't habitable, but she could absolutely terraform them also. It could be a fun little project for her, terraforming something that "small".
I imagine that is also very possible. Araltians are big enough and easily noticeable and other species are... not. So alien ships initiating first contact is very plausible.

In that case, they probably know how to reconstitute other stars as well. It's funny to think they have a one up on VDO's Sunny since creating stars is the one thing that Sunny can't do.😆
fair enough. It also depends on the point of view and how much for the camera can even take in. 😉
I would certainly be interested to see that.
August does seem like the type to do projects like that on her off days since she clearly enjoys her work. Plus it would look snazzy.
Although could the alien ships be considered to have begun the first contact if a huge Araltian shows up in their sky?
