A special assignment involving food preservation is overlooked by a team of doctors and scientists to prepare for the long road ahead and any situations that can be dire.Special Assignment"Lucia, how did the testing go? Any progress made?" A testing program is being reviewed by a team of researchers to prepare them for difficult situations related to food shortages. Among them are three doctors - Lucia Winthrop, Robby Eriksson, and James Ogilvie.
After being addressed directly by the team, the white female doberman informs, "The testing program was a success. And the results were big. Many of those who had been given a small surplus were able to live well and perform better than those with higher stashes."
The brown / white Siberian Husky scribbles down the results while the snow leopard mentions, "We have a couple more runs to do then we will be finished."
"So Robby, what will the next two simulations consist of?" The brown Husky assessed. His tail wags moderately while awaiting an answer from the snow leopard, keeping his blue eyes on the spotted feline.
Robby presumes, "You'll be surprised with what I've come up with. The next test will revolve around stolen items and the next test after that will be the aftermath of a disaster."
Listening to the information, Lucia suddenly grows suspicious. She interjects, "Why should we be snatching food supplies and destroying surplus? This isn't what we signed up for!"
"But this is simply a test to see how people will respond to a sudden change or shortage in supplies." James informs. Having picked up on Lucia's suspicion, the husky whispers in Robby's ear, "Lucia's growing irritated; I can tell."
The snow leopard doctor addresses Lucia's issue. He reminds the white furred female doberman, "Lucia, these test sessions are to prepare people for times of sudden crises in the event of a drop in surplus or a famine. This is not intended to be dangerous in any way. You trust us, right? Would we ever lie to you?"
Lucia's unwavering gaze remains stony, though she averts her peach colored eyes to the floors and huffs, "No, but this seems nothing but strange. Why not perform all these experiments back when there were actual problems?"
"Technology wasn't as advanced and accurate as it was now." James concluded. His tail wags mildly while he explains, "Over the years, technological upgrades have allowed better results, so with the stuff we have now, we're finally gaining ground on our research. It shouldn't take long, though."
After some time, the white doberman is finally, although reluctantly, convinced by her two colleagues, leaving her to wistfully grumble in defeat, "Fine, you win. I guess it's not all that bad. But still, can't help but be on guard about this."
"Once again Lucia, we are happy to help everyone and each other!" Patting her shoulder reassuringly, Robby reminds her of why they're here. And with James being present, both men are able to answer any questions that Lucia has about the procedures.
With her suspicion put at ease, the trio resumes their work in trying out various tests and experiments in hopes of educating and preparing the general public for times of disaster. However, another researcher makes herself known to the group, coming in with a clipboard.
Holding a clipboard in her hand, Cara sweeps her gaze around the room, locking her eyes between the three doctors. With the three doctors present, the wolfess analyzes the scene and clicks her pen in anticipation, ready to record the results, "Eriksson, Winthrop, Ogilvie, how are the test results going? I've seen everything with my own eyes but I want confirmation and results from you three."
The snow leopard reports, "Things are going smoothly so far. We've run into no complications as of yet. If something happens, we'll let you know."
"Good to know I can always count on you guys and your odd experiments. Keep up the good work, people!" A soft smile graces Cara's features and the wolf departs to leave the three doctors alone, letting them continue their work.
