Name: Belladonna
Race: Green Dragonborn
Gender: Female
Age: 42 (human years)
Height: 6'2 (188 cm)
Class: Swashbuckler Rogue
Personality: Calm, collected, outwardly friendly, internally cynical, uses an aura of friendliness and charm to deceive her targets.
"You got an invite?" The guard asked.
"I certainly do," the green dragonborn said, pulling out a slip of paper and handing it over.
The guard gave the slip a once-over and then eyed her up and down. She was certainly dressed the like, and for all intents and purposes, the invitation had not been noticeably different than any of the others he'd seen that night. Hard to tell if it was fake when she was able to copy the style and handwriting down to the most minute of details. With an approving nod, he stepped aside for her.
"You may head on in, ma'am," he said. "I'm sure the prince especially will enjoy your presence tonight."
"Thank you kindly, sir," she said, nodding to him with a warm smile. She strolled on down the extravagant halls of the castle, a pair of guards holding the doors open ahead of her. And as she stepped into the ballroom, she was immediately greeted by lights, music, chatter, and dancing.
Belladonna scanned the room as she strolled through it, looking hardly different from the others aside from her race. A false identity was enough to give the fake invite some more merit, and a fanciful dress helped her look to be in the same economic class as the others. The nobles here—and especially the prince himself—were apparently quite fond of dragonborns, leaving little need to hide her green scales. She did, however, opt for a dark red paint to complement her scales and match her dress, even if she tended to prefer gold herself. And then just a little touching-up on her face to make herself appear younger than she actually was, and her disguise was complete with minimal fuss.
"Well, hello there, beautiful."
Belladonna blinked as the voice came just as she picked out a wine glass for herself. She turned to its source and found none other than the prince standing before her, smirking at her.
She raised her glass to him and smiled. "Hello, my prince."
"Ah, so you recognize me!" He chuckled and leaned in closer to her. "Well, I don't recall seeing your face before. What's your name?"
"Mentha, please."
The prince blinked. "Mentha? Like...mint?"
"Yes, like mint. I know, my parents were quite creative with the name."
"Well, I like it! But in that case, Mentha...might I ask your hand in the next dance? Your beauty is quite...exquisite tonight, much more than the others here." He took her hand in his own and gave it a small kiss.
Belladonna had to resist rolling her eyes. Normally, she'd rebuke such a forward proposition from someone such as him. But for right now, he was falling right into her claws.
"I'd be delighted to, my prince," she said with a small tail swish.
"Splendid!" He took her hand in his own and guided her along, grinning back at her. "And if this night turns out well, I'd like to show off some of my...prized treasures, if you're curious to see."
Belladonna smirked at those words. She already knew full well what he intended to show off. Had it not been for that, she'd have no reason to treat him kindly, not when he was such a well-known warmonger himself. A violent prince who brought death and destruction to those he saw as being beneath him, and fully willing to exploit the spoils of war he took in the process. Whether it was riches, family heirlooms, or historical artifacts, it hardly mattered. If his hands were on it, it was his.
Such a shame for him that his last victims had come to her about it personally. And she was going to ensure that this very treasure—and a decent chunk of his gold, if she were lucky—ended up out of his hands and straight back to those it rightfully belonged to. And if the night kept going as it did now, she'd hardly need to put in any effort to do so.
She nodded to him, a devious glint in her eyes. "I'd very much love that, my prince."
