My part of the trade with
Owlor... I drew Melody looking a little Ancient Greek-ish. With a harp.
She came out looking a little tall... Like longcat. :3
I was drawing at a perspective and I didn't notice how hilarious she looked until it was ready for digitalization. I was gonna scrap it, but I thought that she managed to look a little charming even if she was hilariously tall. So I finished it as it was. :D
Originally I was gonna draw a bunny character of Owlor, but I could never make her look good, so I went with Melody again... Don't worry dude, I'll draw your crazy rabbit eventually. :3
Eumelia means "Melody". Or so I have been told.

Come on, your sketch was more creative than this... Melody's just some gal in this one, she's a controversial thinker in yours... I wish I was as artsy as you. :3
I'm glad you like her stretchy self. I really gotta learn not to slouch when I'm drawing. It makes the pictures look all funny. x.x
I figured I'd try something a little more elegant and conservative with her hair this time. It's normally so wild and unkempt in your drawings. xD

Artyness is overrrated, and many times I think im being silly, doing something moody and serious with something so inherently funny and lighthearted as cartoon characters....
And anyway, when it comes to creativity I think its more like everyone has their private creative laws of physics, it might seem really odd for anyone else, but for you melting clock, burning giraffe and mountains with "mummy!" written on it makes perfect sense.
And its not like you cant be arty using a pinup style. I recommend checking out Gil Elvgren, he's the classic 50s pinup artist, he's quite good making his pinups interesting by putting his models in different situations. My only complaint is that his stuff often seem a bit fake and posed, thoguh that was the pinup style back then.
I think you are rather creative anyway, I did not expect an anchient greek Melody as a muse, that was a very interesting idea.
I kinda like to scetch very freeform and stream-of-consciousness when im starved for ideas, just throw in visual elements and see how they ract with each other.
Something I often need to overcome is worrying over how people will react to a piece when it's different from what they are used to me posting.

OMIGOSH Oscil's back. <3
Ahem... Anyways, thank you! I've always loved Melody's blood red hair, it's so simple yet passionate. And thank for reminding me of that word... I was all like "what's that other word for harp...?". x.x
Sometimes my brain takes little vacations without my consent.

That reminds me, it turns out that those beutful anchient greek statues wasn't actually plain white marble the way we see them today, they where actually painted in rather gaudy colors (http://www.smithsonianmag.com/arts-.....ue-colors.html)

Perhaps it looks better in person, but I think it is rather unecessery, the marble has a very nice character on its own.
