Did Harley Earl forget headlights when he designed his 1951 General Motors LeSabre? The answer lies behind that oval shaped “intake” on the front of the car. A pair of closely-spaced headlights is cleverly hidden behind it.
Those of you who follow me know that I don’t usually shot an entire vehicle (thank the crowd of people in the shot) but I just had to show off more of this amazing vehicle. For a time I owned a 1988 Buick LeSabre. When I compare that car to its visionary namesake, I am saddened to think of what General Motors failed to deliver.

The '88 LeSabre is a great car in its own right. There's a gorgeous example in MINT condition running around near me and I give the classic car wave every time I see it.
...But goodness gracious do I want to live in the automotive landscape Harley Earl wanted and we got a glimpse of in 1958.
