Hello I am here again with another recipe that I promise is better than the photo makes it look, I am not sure how to make a burger not come out grey, I think I might need to buy better quality beef so if you make this you may want to avoid using whatever's on sale at Safeway like I did.NEVERMIND BETTER PICTURE UP NOW IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH OIL MAYBE DON'T USE TOO MUCH OIL OR IT WILL BURN YOU Also since this is not baking the amounts are pretty variable. Oh and when you are choosing beef for burgers you don't generally want to go lower-fat than 85/15 or you will really start noticing a texture difference.
Burger
about half a pound of ground beef
an ounce or so of mild blue cheese crumbles
an egg
hamburger bun
butter
green chile relish
Green Chile Relish
quarter-cup diced roasted mild green chiles
one clove of garlic, minced
salt
pepper
This is really a pretty simple recipe and you can probably figure it out by looking at the ingredients but here goes!
Okay, first take the chiles and the garlic, then mix them together in a bowl with a bit of salt and pepper. Congratulations, the relish is done so put that aside for a bit.
Take the beef and mix it with the blue cheese crumbles and season with salt and pepper to taste. Shape it into a patty. Cook that in a pan or on a grill over medium-high heat to desired doneness, maybe five minutes a side for medium-rare. I used a pan because it's winter and I don't actually have a grill anyway.
While that's cooking, spread a little butter on the cut sides of the bun and either chuck it in a toaster oven or onto the grill for a couple minutes.
When the burger is near done you'll want to lightly oil a frying pan and crack an egg into it. Cook it sunny-side up for about four minutes over moderate heat.
When the patty is ready, slide it onto the toasted bun and top it with some of the relish, then put the egg over that. When you put the top bun on the yolk will break but if you did a better job centering it in the white than me it probably won't ALL run out the sides. Then you should eat it because that is what you do with food.
