This was the very first painting I painted traditionally for Magic the Gathering! It was done in acrylics on paper for the Wilds of Eldraine set. It's tricky picking up an unfamiliar medium, and even though I feel like acrylics are pretty intuitive to me, there is a lot that I still need to learn and refine, and I'm hoping to develop a more distinct traditional style over time. Either way it's been fun to work on these!

Oh man, I saw that in previews yesterday and was just blown away by the art. Easily one of my favorite pieces in the set and this set has some of the best art I’ve seen in a while. I saw that pop up here and was so surprised to see it. I’m going to buy a print of that :)
Sort of! The original Witchstalker was like a mix between a boar and a badger with a little bit of wolf thrown in: https://www.originalmagicart.store/.....hstalker-print. The guide I was given was a bit more wolf-like so that's what I pushed for, but I tried to keep the boar-esque proportions and posture :).
