This art piece was a prequel for my last upload of Amaiya and Whimsy at Pride (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/53405887/)
Here they both excitedly get ready for pride, painting the transfem pride flag on each others cheeks that stayed on for all the following pride pieces.
This was my first year attending Pride. This was my first year being myself with the people around me. Coming out, loving myself, letting go of shame.
Fun fact, this piece was commissioned at a time when I wasn't sure if Missy was going to be Amaiya's new form or if Amaiya would be redesigned to look closer to Missy. While the verdict landed on keeping them separate, Amaiya has a hairstyle more reminiscent of Missy's in this piece as a reflection of that point in time. Amaiya in this piece is carrying Missy with her in a way that I don't do nowadays.
