***Story***

The night life of the city would always be far more entertaining than the day. That's when the parties happened. People dressed in their best, most extravagant pieces of clothing, the lights come on and the raves start booming. Daytime just seemed to boring by comparison. People really seemed to be themselves when they went out at night. The masks came on and the freaks and monsters, the rejects and rebels, the terrors and hidden wonders of the city came to make themselves known. Oh the fun they all had...

But Raninok never really worried about being out there. He had seen enough of what these people were like to know to keep his distance. he dealt with them enough during the day. Seeing them unhinged at night was not necessary. But that didn't mean he wasn't paying attention. Resting on construction crane just above the main city street of Skytone, he looked out to the pretty dazzling light and simply listened. The running of cars, the laughter of the people, the wind rustling by. He was so high up and yet when he looked down at them, he could see them with no issue. He was connected to every phone down there, seeing what every camera saw and hearing every call, seeing every message. The amount of information people don't even realize is on their phone...

"Hey Rani!" Came a voice from below. Climbing up the crane to meet him was a young wolfess, slowly, moving past him and sitting down right next to him, taking a small puff from her cigarette. "Whatcha doin' up her all alone?"

"Hey Cece. Had to get out. Wanted to test out my new augs." She looked at him with wide eyes.

"You actually got 'em? How much?"

"250K." Cece broke into a laugh before taking another smoke from her cig.

"You keep taking that much money and people are gonna find you, ya know. You're good but you ain't that good."

"Been doing this since I was 10." He looked at her and smirked, his yellow eyes glowing.

"Alright alright so... you augmented your eyes and ears. What's next?" She asked, smoke leaving her nose as she looked him over. He shrugged.

"Dunno. Might be it for me. I can do a lot with what I have."

"Yeah. You can spy on people and listen to their conversations. Hack their bank accounts and find all kinds of info on them online. The ultimate predator." She joked. He smiled at that, rubbing his chin.

"No different from what you can do. Those nails aren't just for show. I'm just trying to keep up with all your hacking upgrades. Where'd you get those anyway?" Cece grinned, her tail wagging as she took a look at her nails, making a show of them as she laughed. Pretty golden talons that served the normal offensive use while also capable of hacking into and infecting any electronic device they touched.

"Oh these? Trade secret. Don't worry about it! I think we make a great team as is. You're the surveillance guy and I'm the field girl! Together, we're unstoppable." She leaned forward and looked down at all the people partying the night away, in their own little worlds, no one aware of the two wolves looking down on them. The two were silent for a bit before she looked over at him, seeing him look up at the sky, his hands in his pocket.

"What's it like?" She asked. "Having so much going on in your head?" Raninok's ears twitched. He took a slow breath but kept his gaze on the sky, as if seeing something flying up above the skyscrapers.

"At first it was sweet. I could do whatever I wanted and no one would know. I saw bank records, deposits, transactions, credit card numbers, stock markets, farmers markets, conventions, freaking everything. And then it kept going. I saw facebook posts, twitter photos, text messages, phone calls. birthday parties, funerals, divorces, I saw fights, wars, car crashes, natural disasters, shootings. I saw it all. All at once." His voice began to waver, his ears and tail twitching more as he harped on the endless supply of information he held in his brain. He took another breath, his tail twitching behind him as he tried to keep himself together. "I've gotten better at it though. Keeping it all together. It's like slotting everything into files in my brain." He gave a little chuckle and Cece took one last smoke of her cigarette before flicking it off into the street down below.

"Rani?"

"Yeah?"

"Get some sleep, eh?" He looked down at her and she seemed serious, slowly getting up from her spot and patting his back as she began to climb down. "I'll leave the door my place unlocked. Don't stay up here too long, alright?" She looked at him and he didn't say anything. "ALRIGHT?" She asked louder.

"Alright alright! I'll... I'll be done in a bit," he pacified her. She nodded in response and climbed down the crane, leaving him alone again.

I love Cyberpunk. One of my favorite genres and I feel I needed to get a commission on one. I got one a long time ago of Cece and I felt like Cece and Raninok's designs actually lend well to a sci fi/Cyberpunk setting. So here we are. The two of them are partners in the strange city of Skytone, a place that loves to be a mess, politically and socially. Cece and Rani are simply trying to make their own living in the place, outcasts from most groups and fully embrace it. Getting augmentations and upgrades to make life easier, the both of them are skilled hackers getting through life one stolen paycheck at a time.

I thought this would just be something really cool to try out. It's gorgeous! Look at how pretty this lighting is! The coloring! The mood and atmosphere! It's so freaking awesome! And we have  Nordbuster to thank for that! Please go and check them out and commission them! Their work is well worth every cent. I'm so happy to have gotten this... I gotta get more Sci-Fi commissions. Fantasy is my bread and butter but sci-fi rocks too!
