Ever wonder what they look like? Well, I did. lol So I decided to design them, just to satisfy the curiousity. n_n
Meet Cherise, her adoring mother who's as beautiful as a cherry blossom. And Haedyn, her fire-wielding dad with a spark for fire opals. Don't they make a lovely couple? Can you tell where Maraschino gets her traits from? n_n
This was kind of a fun exercise in creating characters that can look related. I've done this once before, with Luthien years ago when I made her parents. I think its a little bit harder to design parents than it is offspring, since you're not mixing traits, you're splitting them. You want two individuals that share some of their looks with their child but still have some features unique to them.
Anyway, now you know. lol I don't know if I'll draw them again, mostly just wanted to explore.

This is such a fun concept! I really like the fact that Maraschino's fur is pretty much a perfect balance between her two parents'. I also can't help but feel that their outfits appear just slightly older in style compared to some pieces we see Maraschino in, which I think helps to solidify that elder element; like seeing your own parents in slightly older styles.
Good work with this fun trait splitting challenge!
