Once an adult Kl'setvi has fostered twice, it begins to fade, its memories duplicated through its two offspring, and being an earlier 'obsolete' version, its 'essence' has been depleted to the point of allowing dissolution.

Some Kl'setvi have philosophized that they carry the souls of all they've converted in amalgam, while others postulate that each entity is new and unique, and the original components are released once metamorphosis is complete, back to their origin dimensions.

Despite all their science and psionic abilities, knowledge of the hereafter is just as complicated and speculative for the Kl'setvi as it is for us 'flatside' dimensional beings.
