Soooo yeah. Sorry about no art. For five days I was on the other side of the country in Seattle visiting a friend of mine. While there, we met up with
assbutt,
razzek, and
stokerbramwell and they showed me the wonderful weeaboo paradise that is Uwajimaya -- a MASSIVE Asian market. I stocked up on a lot of my usual favorites (Kasugai gummies, Tomato Pretz, and so on) and discovered some new curiosities.
None of us were sure what to make of the name of this snack.
Ok! Back to my commission list!

Its like more like really fresh jerky,but the kind I had was spicccyyyyyy,I want some fish jerky from Thailand I see a lot in these ads http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8Rlf7omtzk
Speaking of Asian supermarkets I just went to one earlier today and got myself a whole bunch o' candies and gum (can't have too much of Watering Kissmint and Sakuma drops). I also love Kasugai's Black Coffee candy, it's so good. And UCC canned Coffee...it's hard not to spend too much money in those places. x-x;
they did those on the cinema snob :D
I knew I recognized them, he says they taste terrible :|

I love Uwajimaya! Actually, what I really love is Kinokuniya, the big Japanese bookstore attached to it.
Mainly because I finally found a Void Cubethere! (Basically a Rubik's Cube with no centers.)

OH HOW I MISS HOME.
I haven't been to the Uwajimaya in Seattle, but the one in Portland is just delightful.
I love randomly picking things off the drink wall and hoping that it tastes good because I can't read shit. 8( (Apparently anything with One Piece characters on it = delicious)

Late to the game, but Uwaji's is great. You ever pop over, try some of the other markets in the area. They have a weird stink to them, but that goes away after a couple minutes. SO CHEAP AND SO GOOD.
Also it's kind of a legal requirement to go to Viet-Wah (11th and Jackson) at least once. Produce so fresh THEY PREP IT IN THE BACK ROOM.

I just saw the video where Brad Jones tries this — it was called "Brad Tries Durian Toffee" because that was the first of many snacks he tried in it — and when he pulled the bag out, without it even being clear enough to read, I was like "OMG is that the so-and-so and you thing?" My brain does a weird job of choosing what to remember.
(For the record he did not have good things to say about it. He did like the durian toffee though.)
