Maybe he'll get used to her... He's not accustomed to sharing such a small space with another dragon, especially a female. He might warm up to her after a little while...

That would be nice, I suppose, but they'd have to go out and hunt sometime, and they'd be vulnerable then.

HMPH, though I somewhat believed Carnoc deserved being treated that way, the 'shock therapy' coercion thing usually gets on my nerves. I'm surprised he's back where he's been before and meeting the same person again. Oh, then I guess things aren't looking better for him, there's still Dave he has to worry about. Now it's the females who get captured too, and the language barrier might prove to be quite a challenge for them more than the males who spoke it fluently. Hope that Sean would be there to help them once more despite Carnoc'c low opinion on him.

It's less 'coercion' and more 'Simon looking for any possible excuse to cause injury to Carnoc.' >.>

Well, arguably Carnoc is safe from Dave while held captive at the zoo, but on the other hand, he and all the other dragons and a fair number of humans also want him to not be there...

Yeah, Simon's too emotionally involved with the late Allison to let his grudge slide. Even if you say Carnoc's safe from Dave, I think Simon is feeling just like Dave now since both men had lost loved ones and it was Carnoc's fault anyway. If they both meet, there is a mutual feeling of revenge between the two.

Speaking of which, I should want to see how the other dragons are doing.

Yeah, that's true. The question is how far he'll go, I guess.

I... didn't write out any chapters of other dragons during this second captivity period, but we'll hear from them at least a little in later chapters.

You know, the story of these dragons' plight deeply reminds me of the subject of diaspora literature themes that I've studied last year in my literature class.

Heh, cool! Not intentional (that's never a literature subject I had a class focus on), but interesting nonetheless. :P

I mean it since the series clearly depicts that they would really need a place to live in freedom and peace in a world where they are usually misunderstood. With them in captivity once more and both clan sites are no longer secure, they really need someone who should help them, either Sean or his allies are most likely at the forefront in this but I've said enough.

There's nothing wrong with that! Just because Carnoc gets most of the screen time doesn't mean that you have to like him, or even that I expect you to like him.

Even though Carnoc deserves EVERYTHING he's getting, I'm quite heart-torn by the fact that he doesn't have his mate... but someone else's. that just seems too unfair.

Having his mate with him would be too convenient! Not to mention quite the coincidence.

Man, I want to like Carnoc but he is the dragon equivilant of a self centered douche. Maybe it runs in line with Vidac's bolt, or being born a warrior?
A thought comes to mind- "In every generation, a warrior is born... although sometimes they are a dick"

Well, they come along more like once every 5-10 generations. And yeah, he's kind of an ass, but the two of them have different social expectations.
