I think POP’s are ok for the die-hard fan, just don’t plan to collect everything Funko at all.
Or bother with more expensive wilder designs {like the same character but in ‘gold’}.

The duality of man

I'm still looking for Vash eating donut funko pop.

Their primary benefit is being cheap and covering a large variety of franchises. Like yeah they’re not as nice as nendoroids but they’re also a fraction of the cost.

A LOT of people say that as an excuse to defend Funko POPs, but I don't buy that excuse for 3 primary reasons:
1: Saving money is a thing; if people can save up thousands of dollars to buy a car or a house, saving a few dozen dollars to buy a decent figurine shouldn't be that hard.
2: People often LINE THEIR WALLS with the damn things: if you can afford to line your walls with Funko POPs, you can afford at least 1 decent Nendoroid.
3: There are people who will spend literally thousands of dollars to buy "rare" Funko POPs; if you can afford to spend that much on 1 Funko POP, there is literally no excuse for not being able to afford a Nendoroid, especially not if you're ALSO lining your walls with non "rare" Funkos.

TL;DR: "I can't afford real figurines" is a complete load of crap.

I think Ashens summarized Funko POPs best: "They take everything you like about a franchise, chuck it out the window, and give you a generic dead-eyed lump of plastic with a big square head." Not to mention, all they do is cash in on the popularity of actually creative intellectual property while having no creativity of their own. I EAGERLY await the day that Funko POPs go the way of Beanie Babies.

Amen. They do nothing and serve no purpose other than being collectables. I'm a much bigger fan of Lego models myself. At least those give you the satisfaction of building them yourself.

My sister got me a few of those things once even though I never had any interest in them. It's hard getting them to stand without falling. Apparently you weren't supposed to unbox them or something? They don't even look that good.

They also have a lot of Transformers one and its cool that one of the biggest ones is Unicron from the 1986 Transformers movie.

This speaks to me. I believe they're a scam, they're a waste of money, they're overpriced and if they had the right ones that appealed to my interest, I'd have a difficult time not buying them. I still wouldn't buy them, but it wouldn't be easy.

I only got 2 cause it was at best buy and during the big Pokémon legendary event.
