This is the High Grade 1/144 Gundam Aerial Rebuild. :) This mobile suit comes to us from Mobile Suit Gundam The Witch From Mercury, and is piloted by Suletta Mercury. Following the team-duel with Grassley House which saw the Gundam Aerial incur heavy damage, it was sent back to the Shin Sei Development Corporation in order to be repaired. They proceeded to overhaul the suit into the Gundam Aerial Rebuild. The Aerial Rebuild now has its own built in thruster backpack, removing the need for equipment like the Mirasoul Flight Unit for maneuvering in space. In addition, the armor on the upper body is now a darker blue color, rather than the light blue seen on the original Gundam Aerial. Additional upgrades include an improved beam rifle which - when combined with GUND-BITs, becomes a beam cannon with drastically increased output.
I have to say, this is a fantastic kit! :) Not only is the build fun, but it has very few bits that need any paint. There are a few color correcting sticker decals, which you can substitute with paint if you prefer, but I just used the stickers for mine. The articulation is really good on this one, too. :) I can’t tell if you need two or three of The Witch From Mercury display stand sets (sold separately) to display it with the GUND-BITs deployed. I was able to improvise a bit and do it with two sets of the stands, but you may want to get a third one just in case.
As far as issues go, I had trouble finding problems with this one. It’s just that solid. My only real gripe is that the rifle is so heavy that the hand can’t support the weight unless you angle the wrist a certain way. This can limit the range of poses if you don’t modify it somehow. other than that, this is a really good kit, and definitely worth picking up. :)
