In response to The-Great-B-Man's picture of himself as a Druid in Cat form, I give you Wrath the Meowth as a WoW Shaman!
In World of Warcraft there are two primal classes(Three if you count the Hunter, who can be both a martial and a primal class. Unless the hunter specializes in taming beasts, however, I consider the Hunter a martial class.) The druid and shaman are both types of nature mages, the druid focusing on the transformation and primal raw force of druids and the shamans focusing on the raw elements and spirts of the druid nature.
Personally, I prefer the Shamans, as they just seem more true to the druid lore of other systems and stuff I'm used to. Plus they're possibly the most solid and well balanced of healers, with the paladin being rather clumsy and the priest being fragile. So usually I go for the Shaman.
Long live the Council of Three Hammers! Glory to Wildhammer! For the Alliance!
PS may color this in time.
