My attempt(s) for the most recent Thursday Prompt. Last Thursday, the word for the prompt was the word 'pulp'.
As always, please be sure to check
ThursdayPrompt for more.
Was in one of my little fits over the end of the week when this prompt came out and wasn't really in the mood for much of anything. Since I failed my personal goal of having something done on Thursday, I've done my usual thing and prepared one bigger collection of several shorts that sort of, almost, maybe work.
Attempt 1 - Things are not looking up for Troy right now.
Attempt 2 - Probably longer than it needed to be, but this prompt gave me a good starting point for the next chapter of "The Darkest Oceans".
Attempt 3 - I've had this idea for a ghost story for a while. This isn't quite what I had in mind but
gave me the idea after my attempt at the previous Thursday Prompt to use the Last Stop motel as the setting and I thought that'd work brilliantly (thank you Morning).
Attempt 4 - Visitation day at the institute.

Oof, not fun. I've had only minor experience with inebriated people, but I've learned to give them lots of space. Also, the transient nature of memories is another interesting topic, but one I won't go into too much, because I've personally experienced enough philosophy in one day, heh.
I remember going to the Vanderbilt in New York and just being astonished by how much I could see. I've always found depictions of huge constructions to be very interesting, but also almost frightening in a way. And I've had really bad curry before, so I think I could stomach the pulp. :)
Very nice horror you have going there, especially since it starts off as a tragedy before reaching the conclusion, which is both shocking, but a pretty good payoff.
It can be difficult for others to understand the pain and sometimes negative experiences you have to go through to improve. Fernando's use of humor to try to deflect is especially resonant, as is the crumbling of the defense when harder questions are pressed.

I'm very grateful to hear your thoughts on all these; I went a bit overboard this time, so I very much appreciate you toughing it out.
I, myself, do not drink and the only interaction with friends who do enjoy a buzz have been with some 'happy drunk' types, so they just get kind of bubbly and crack bad jokes. I'm also very glad to hear you thought the whole memory loss angle went well as it is kind of the crux to that story.
I had a similar experience my first time flying, which was only last year. A trip up to Boston for some work-related training; small-town, not-even-on-the-map type of guy like me felt like I had traveled to another planet exploring the big-big city. Though, I've never had a bad curry before, maybe you would be able to stand up to the pulp challenge!
It was a bit corny, really, but I am very glad to hear you thought the ghost story went over well.
As long as you put your best foot forward, that's what matter, I think. Doesn't help that Walker just doesn't really think before he speaks though...

I thought at the beginning of this week's prompt that most of the stories would either contain juice or blood. Glad to see you managed to write stories for each. xD
The transformed folks in the hospital always get me. It's interesting seeing them trying to figure things out and deal with how the people in their lives will see them in their new forms. And when they get slapped away by their loved ones it's oh so disheartening.

Fruit juice pulp or a bloody pulp... why not both?
I'm glad you like Walker and his gang; I'm still working on how to go about that one, but I'm having fun with it. And don't worry about Fernando, he and his wife just have a very verbal and active relationship.
Thank you very much for going through all these, I probably got a bit carried away but I appreciate you reading through this mess.
