I felt the need to add some livestock that wouldn't vanish with a regional flux event. Gives the spellfluxed societies more stuff to trade with the outside world as they raise livestock and get very magical animal products from them.

He, I stil wonder how they trade with people outside the manatear, without people from the outside world being changed or sucked in.
Also, seems that people stil get sucked into this anomaly region every now and then, I would have assumed that whatever country is at the outside would have locked down the entire perimeter of the place. Or is the manatear region as big as a continent?

The manatear is fairly big. I'd classify it as a fairly modest continent. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/47354880/ There probably will be more manatear off the screen here to make it more of a problem for the people living in the wider world as it really broke shipping routes.
Humans are able to reasonably safely visit with the right equipment and skillset, they just gotta be paranoid and leave when stuff goes stupid. It's effectively on radiation rules so if things start going south and you leave you'll be fine. Just don't go poke the elephants foot in ground zero.
