So as an architecture major, I have unlimited access to a lasercutter. This is awesome.
I was feeling annoyed at studio yesterday, so I CADed these up and cut them out of some plywood I scavenged from someone else.
The one on the right I wrote a script in RhinoScript to generate the grid of circles. Most of the energy put into the script was in looking up how gaussian distributions work. I think it would work well with a tea light in it, I just don't have any on hand, and would have to borrow someone else's camera to take a dark picture of that.
The box on the left I vectorized a design from a webcomic I love: www.picturesforsadchildren.com
Yay lasers!
Also, yeah, not furry at all but whatever lasers are awesome. In theory if someone had vector art I might be able to lasercut it.

Lasers are indeed awsome.
What brand/model is it?
Have made something similar with with 3mm ply and 3mm dovetails. it makes a nice square edge pattern with the alernating burnt edges ^_^
If you have the original cad files maybe post these to www.thingiverse.com and have a poke around tehre. there are some very interesting things being made
