"I haven't forgiven you ...yet."
It was the fourth ... or maybe the fifth time that the older woman had visited them at home, and Mark was very glad that his wife was no longer arguing with her mother.
It was really a huge step forward for them.
It all started with completely familiar and understandable things for Mark. The husband heard a lot about his wife's past, which helped him understand why his lovely Madeline behaved one way and another at certain moments, as well as more things about her mother-in-law in return.
- Everything converged to the point, that Elvira, left completely alone decided to review her life and dedicate it to the one on whom she depended the most, - and Madeline was the only person she had left in the whole world.
In turn, Madeline blamed her mother for leaving her with her stepfather and that it ruined her life - to which Elvira really had no answer in return.
At first, Madeline screamed most of the time and Elvira cried, but then both women calmed down a bit. Not knowing what to do, Mark tried not to interfere and even not show up in the room, limiting his role mainly to making tea for them, and from time to time carefully and inconspicuously monitoring what was happening around.
The surprised man stopped at the door of the living room with a slight smile, seeing the touching scene before him.
"Forgive me, my dear little one, - I didn't quite understand what I was doing. I was just trying to live the way I was used to from the very beginning, and the way my own mother lived.
I really didn't want to hurt you, my little one." The woman said quietly, hugging her daughter.
"I still haven't forgiven you!" Stubbornly answered his wife.
"...But I don't mind if you visit us more often." Madeline replied quietly, hugging smiling Elvira back and stroking her on the back.
"Finally, at least some progress..." Mark thought with a relieved smile, looking at this touching scene of the union of two generations of women.
"...And I also found a cheap little apartment not too far from here, - so I will be able to visit you more often!" Childish smiling naively said Elvira.
"Oh, it's so wonderful Mom!" Smiled Madeline.
"Heck..." Thought Mark.
After all the woman really visited her daughter more often, trying to make up for a lost time, and even trying to help them in their daily life...

"I have a big question. Could you tell me about my real dad?" Asked Madeline, drinking tea and sitting with her mother in the living room.
"Which?" The woman answered uncertainly.
Hearing the scream, Mark rushed out of the kitchen and looked into the living room.
"... ... ...
You don't know who my dad is!?" Madeline screamed in shock, looking at her mother, who, not understanding what was happening, looked at her daughter in surprise, cowering in a chair.
"I knew I shouldn't have asked…" Madeline muttered quietly as she walked past her husband, and left the room with a strange look on her face.

Made privately for me.
Mark knows very well that his Madeline is a bit emotional, - but a very intelligent and prudent woman. So the man decided not to interfere in the case which concerns only Madeline and her mother, carefully circling around in case things somehow take an unpleasant direction and he has to intervene.

Also please note that my story is in the process of being written, and most of these small fragments that I published are not in chronological order.
(Chronology always was a real pain for me.) So when I finish my plans I will try to put everything in order. If I can...
The story and all characters belong to me
Marksan
The wonderful drawings and most of character desighn are kindly made for me by
sethtriggs For which I am very grateful for his help in portraying all this - because without his vision and pictures I would never have been able to tell this story. He really did a lot for me.
I talked with Zider
Ben Zider about the art and writing of the stories, and in this way, he triggered me to write a deeper story about Elvira and Madeleine's past.
We still have "Tales of Chakona Discord for fans" - a cozy place where we usually gather. But after the recent ...flooding infestation, the rules were changed slightly. So ask around for an invite PM.
I am nice with talking to people. I swear. )))
