Turns out, ghosts can gain weight, and King Boo has been busy being spoiled by his loyal Boo subjects. Seems he quite likes the new heft and is more interested in being a soft blob than much else anymore.

This is the plot of Luigi's Mansion 4. E. Gadd calls Luigi once more detecting a huge and growing spectral mass, suspecting it has to do with the dissappearing food. Luigi discovers King Boo and all his swelling glory, only to find he's peaceful this time around and this all started unintentionally, but now he can't stop. Its assumed that King Boo is eating all the food, but what's this! Its actually rouge ghosts stealing all of it to keep it for their own growing ghostly blob, though this one nowhere near as pleasant as King Boo. Luigi must stop the new threat as well as keep King Boo fed so he can take care of that nasty blob threat.
