That is what I would have expected for some sort of masking project. But, for "those fiddly bits" being so small and widely scattered, one would have to have plans advanced enough to know almost every square millimeter of an image that is not even on paper yet. THAT'S what I would call planning!
And there is certainly nothing worng with throwing one's self, energy or occasional splatters into an image! }:=)
