Here's another way to tell you went of the edge of the grid, since SL "Gravity" ends at grid edge you can literally walk on air along the edge of the grid. I always wondered what was REALLY past the end of the world. The Lindens have a barrier that keeps you from leaving the grid. they also use a similar barrier between "island" regions. Those are full regions that are not connected to anything. Eternal desires in an "island" Region you cannot leave the region by walking, flying, driving or boating, on international waters. on the map we are very close to another "island" Region called Sweet Heart. The gap is about 1/2 a region but its "international waters" so you can't cross it unless you TP.
